The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Healthcare Products has issued a report and a resolution in which it recognizes the benefit of PRP therapy, Growth Factors and standardizes its use as a medicine.
Biological therapies and specifically the use of Growth Factors is one of the main research topics of the García Cugat Foundation since its inception. For more than a decade Doctors Alex Tarragó in veterinary and Ramón Cugat in human, members of the Foundation, have worked on Growth Factors and demonstrated the effectiveness of this therapy especially in traumatology. For your part, the Drs. Ana Wang Saegusa and Montserrat Garcia Balletbó have used growth factors for skin regeneration since 2005 and are pioneers in their use in anti-aging medicine.
Dr. García Balletbó, President of the García Cugat Foundation has celebrated the decision of the Ministry of Health and renewed the Foundation’s commitment to continue research and conduct new clinical trials “adequately designed to establish adequate levels of evidence in each of the pathologies and types of PRP”,as noted in the expert report of the Ministry of Health.
