Dr. Elena Damia has presented her thesis at the Universidad Cardenal Herrera deValencia “Experimental study on the influence of rich plasma in growth factors in intramuscular injection on the serum concentration of isulinum growth factor type I and the C-Reactiva protein in the canine species” funded by the García Cugat Foundation and the Spanish Government.
This is a fundamental job –said Dr. Ramón Cugat– one of the world’s leading specialists in the use of growth factors and a member of the court – for scientific support in sports medicine and the demonstration that Growth Factors are not a doping substance.
In her thesis, Dr. Elena Damia describes what growth factors are, what is the process of obtaining and the results and benefits in tissue recovery.
Platelet Rich Plasma promotes tissue regeneration and is the base matrix for tissue repair, used in sports medicine especially in muscle injuries. Also noting that the application of them without injury has no effect
It highlights, among other issues, the ability to attract cells to the site of the injury and the anti-inflammatory effect.
The thesis has been directed by Dr. Monica Rubio and the Drs. Jose Maria Carrillo and Joaquin Sopena.
The court has been chaired by Professor Dr. Cerón with the participation ofDr. Ramón Cugat,Dr. Juan Manuel Domínguez of the University of Córdoba and The Drs. Kati Satué and María del Mar López Murcia of the Universidad Cardenal Herrera de Valencia.
