The medical team of the García Cugat Foundation led by Dr. Ramón Cugat will present at the IV Scientific Day that will be held on Saturday, October 4, the Palacio de Congresos de Port Aventura (Salou) the first results after the first year of experience in the application of mesenchymal stem cells in trauma injuries: they favor the faster recovery of the injury.
Since 2013 after the experience and result of application in animals, the Spanish Medicines Agency has endorsed the application of stem cell therapies in traumatology. Therapies from which in a year have benefited both elite athletes and lower categories accustomed to an over-muscle effort and in patients with different types of frequent injuries in traumatology. The results represent a new advance in regenerative medicine.
It is also the continuation of more than a decade of experience in advanced biology-based therapies in which the use of “Growth Factors” was a first step. Stem cell treatment and growth factors for osteoarthritis is another advance in biological medicine that are already a reality in both veterinary and human.
II International Congress of Veterinary Medicine
In parallel to the Conference on Regenerative Medicine, the SECOND International Congress of Veterinary Medicine organized by the García Cugat Foundation and the García Cugat Foundation García Cugat Foundation Regenerative Medicine and Surgery will be held from 3 to 5 October.
The contributions of research in biological medicine in veterinary medicine are key to later its application in human medicine and the veterinary research team of the García Cugat Foundation is fundamental to the development of regenerative medicine.
The García Cugat Foundation was created in 2007 by a group of doctors, veterinarians and health professionals who research biological treatments. It is named after José García Cugat, (L’Aldea 1924-Poliny 1990) founder of the Spanish Association of Artroscopy.
In 2013 the García Cugat Foundation Chair of Medicine and Regenerative Surgery was created with the CEU Cardenal Herrera University of Valencia led by Drs. Ramón Cugat and José María Carrillo to support the research and training of professionals in this new medical domain.
