FIND NEW BIOMARKERS FOR EARLY DETECTION OF OSTEOARTHRITIS

Researchers from the García Cugat-CEU Foundation Chair of Biomedical Research at the CEU Cardenal Herrera University have led a research project that has allowed to find new biomarkers for the early detection of hip osteoarthritis and the evaluation of its treatment in its first phases, according to the academic institution in a statement.

The results, published in the international scientific journal ‘Plos One’, have been obtained in animal models through the application of a treatment that combines autologous mesenchymal stem cells of adipose tissue and plasma rich in growth factors. The research has been carried out together with members of the Universities of Las Palmas, Murcia, Córdoba, Bologna and the Quirón Clinic in Barcelona.
